This front lift kit for the RAM 1500 DS platform is engineered using the highly respected Bilstein 5100 series adjustable struts, known for their durability and superior ride quality on and off the road. The key feature of the 5100 struts is their multiple snap ring grooves along the shock body, which allow precise adjustment of the spring seat height. This system lets you fine tune your front-end lift without needing a spacer or replacement coil spring.

Technical Details:

• Adjustable Spring Perch Grooves:
  The Bilstein 5100 struts have multiple snap-ring grooves to raise the coil spring seat. This changes preload and ride height without using external spacers.

• Lift from Preload + Spring Length:
  The combination of higher spring preload (via strut adjustment) and longer coil spring gives you 4 inches of total front lift.

• Maintains Ride Quality & Safety:
  Unlike spacer lifts, this method preserves proper suspension geometry, full shock travel, and factory ride characteristics.

• More Travel, More Capability:
  This setup increases bump and droop travel, which means better off road articulation and control.

Installation Note:

• Spring Compression is Required:
  Installing this setup requires safely compressing the coil spring to mount onto the Bilstein strut. This job should only be done by trained professionals using proper spring compressors to avoid injury or damage.

• Upper Control Arms:
  For optimal alignment and suspension travel with this amount of lift, Upper Control Arms are recommended.

Lift and levelling kits may interfere with vehicle functions including but not limited to stability control, auto levelling functions and chassis clearance issues.

The bigger the lift or levelling kit that is fitted increases the chances of the factory CV joints wearing out prematurely. High articulation CV joints are available to minimize this matter if required.

In certain circumstances the factory inner CV joint boots may slip off the end of the shaft due to the change in the angle after a front lift has been fitted. In most circumstances fitting an improved CV boot clamp to the CV boot will assist with this matter.
